Healthy Pregnancy

For the nine months of your pregnancy your baby is dependent on you for all their nutritious needs. This is why it is so important to have a healthy and nutritious diet. During the early weeks and months of pregnancy your baby’s cells divide and multiply and their organs are formed. You need to be eating a healthy varied diet rich in fruits, vegetables, wholegrains, seeds, beans, pulses and eggs. Organic food is a better choice when you are pregnant as it will not have been sprayed with pesticides, herbicides or toxins.

During your pregnancy you are dealing with cravings, morning sickness, constipation, heartburn and possible imbalance of blood sugars. This is the time to ensure your diet is at its optimum.

For you we would set out a programme that would:

  • Be a specific healthy eating plan tailored for you and your needs,
  • Work on eating well for both you and your baby,
  • Show what to avoid during pregnancy, including foods and environmental toxins where possible,
  • Include nutritional supplements where required. These can provide you with important nutrients while you are pregnant which will be beneficial for both you and your baby.
